Adding Prints to your Wedding Day
Like bold colors and rain, most brides seem to fear prints. Wedding albums everywhere are full of solid color dresses and equally solid accessories. There’s nothing wrong with going solid, but it can be so much fun to experiment with prints! From soft, super feminine watercolor prints and ombré looks to more bold, graphic prints, non-solid options are out there for you brides-to-be. The question is: will you embrace them?
Soft and Subdued

It’s hard to argue with the beauty of this gorgeous dress by Lunar. The soft, subdued hues of the “blushing bride” print are perfect for you ladies who are a little nervous about making a dramatic statement but would like to step outside the box a little. The gown is a classic empire cut and made out of soft, flowy silk organza. The addition of the understated, romantic print takes what is otherwise a very lovely, standard look and elevates it to something truly extraordinary.

Go Big or Go Home
If you’re more of a “go big or go home” kind of girl, you might be more inclined to go with something like this show-stopping, screen-printed (by hand!) gown by Desira Pesta. The gown is actually made up of three pieces (a tunic, an obi belt, and a skirt) that unite into one breathtaking look. Made out of silk charmeuse (and available in any color!) this gown is also available without the print—but why shun what makes it such a unique, unexpected look?
Fun Accessories

If a printed gown is just not within your comfort zone, why not try to infuse your accessories with fun patterns? These vintage pumps from Matangi are bright, bold and cheerful. They’re great for ladies who are up for something adventurous but who are a little shaky on what people might have to say about stepping outside of the box in such a big way. These shoes will be hidden beneath your gown for most of the day (unless of course you wear a short gown and show these lovelies off!) and when they make their appearance is totally up to you. I always love a fun pair of shoes for photo ops!

Still too much for you? You can go much more subdued with something like this sweet clutch from Pretty Lulu Bridal. This classic, shimmering white dupioni silk beauty is accented by a raw-edge cotton flower in a blue Liberty of London floral print. It’s perfect for brides who are looking for something different but aren’t looking to make a really bold statement--and it also takes care of your "something blue"!

You can also add prints to your wedding by putting your bridesmaids in them. This cute cotton dress by Calvin Klein is a great example. The cool print has a sort of laid-back Eastern feel that's perfect for outdoor or casual affairs and the empire cut is great for most body types. Plus, don't you just love the rich combination of coral, reds and oranges? It makes this great for a summertime wedding and equally fabulous for one in very early fall. My favorite part? It’s a dress that your girls could easily wear again!

Another option is putting the groomsmen in a tie with a print. Surrounded by a solid-color suit, even the wackiest ties look a bit subdued. I’m a big fan of paisley ties, like this silk one from Y&G. The vibrant colors are reminiscent of a peacock, which means you can easily echo the look of the ties with feathers in either your hair or incorporated into the bouquets.
So don’t be shy. Walk on the wild side a bit and throw some prints—whether soft or bold—into the look of your Big Day. It adds a new layer of depth and texture that you will be so happy to have!

Thank you for this beautiful article. I was wondering if you knew where I could find a tie with the same/similar print for my fiance to wear at our reception. We are doing a peacock theme/utilizing the peacock colors and this tie will be perfect to wear with his suit! If you could email me, that would be great!

Hey guys!
The link in the article brought you to the exact tie when the article was first published. I'm wondering if they discontinued that exact tie since it now brings you to something else.
I did a little searching and the closest I found was this one: http://www.amazon.com/Pattern-Darkturquoise-Paisley-Handmade-Neckti....
The only other thing I can think of is contacting Y&G to see what the deal is.
Good luck!!!
