Eco Chic Wedding Inspiration For Earth Day
For some reason "wedding" and "eco-friendly" are rarely said in the same sentence. Often concerned with making things as lavish as possible, brides focus on going all out—and
to some, eco-friendly sounds like an icky downgrade.
But there are so many great green options to consider, from photos to wedding invitations to shoes. In honor of Earth Day, I thought I'd highlight some squeal-worthy fashion finds that also happen to be kind to the environment.
There are some absolutely breathtaking gowns available that are made from all natural and/or sustainable materials. Morgan Boszilkov uses sustainable fabrics to create stunning gowns like the one shown here. This drool-inducing beauty combines style (I don't know about you, but I'm obsessed with rosettes right now!) with eco-consciousness for a look that just can't be beat. There are also plenty of green options for your bridal party, like this sweet hemp linen flower girl dress.

Another great way to incorporate eco-friendly choices into your day is with pieces that are made from recycled or reclaimed materials. This doesn't mean wearing someone else's garbage. Innovative artists take something like an old t-shirt or bed sheets and give them new life. These pretty little bobby pins were made from reclaimed fabric and the wedding rings shown here are made from recycled metals and with conflict free diamonds. Neither choice would be a sacrifice in quality or style.

An option that people don't often think of as being eco-friendly is incorporating vintage pieces into your look. Not only are you getting something that has a history, but
you're giving it new life instead of purchasing something that's made from new supplies. This saves precious natural resources and results in less pollution from things like manufacturing and shipping materials. This necklace is a gorgeous vintage collectible that adds both a little sparkle to your look and a story to tell your guests (I mean, who doesn't like to brag about owning something that's both breathtaking and vintage?!).
And speaking of bragging rights, the tie clip shown here is made entirely from vintage recycled materials. Aside from looking absolutely awesome, it's a one-of-a-kind piece. Your guy would be the only one to have anything like it. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Another eco-friendly choice that many people forget about is buying local. There's way less pollution and usage of resources when you buy something that was made in your area than buying something from across the globe. Luckily for us, the Hudson Valley is full of talented artists. These earrings are made by Kate & Company Jewelry Designs, a Westchester-based designer. The necklace is designed and created by A.N. Original Jewelry, which is based in Saratoga.

With so many beautiful options, what's stopping you from making your big day a little greener?
