Easy Color Inspiration For Your Wedding Day

Share
I absolutely love the creative use of wedding colors. But do I know anything about what colors look good together? No such luck.  Multi colored pencils with sharpened tips

I know the color palette I like...when I see it. When it comes to thinking up one of those amazingly unique color combs I am a total numb skull.

Fortunately, there are some great short cuts to wedding color nirvana.

First, a tip from my favorite color diva, Vivian Lanzarone of Vivian Photography:

"If colors look good together in a room, they'll look good on your bridesmaids and the flowers. They'll look good for your wedding."

If you're stumped for a color scheme, page through a few interior decorating books. Find your inspiration in the rooms you love and borrow those colors for your wedding.

Now if you get stuck thinking monochromatic...like me...and the color swatches at Home Depot just don't light your fire, check out this awesome website for color combo creation.

At Colour Lovers you can create your own custom palette based on a color or even a photograph. Your wedding colors can literally be inspired by anything!

I took this photo of a chicory flower...

Plugged it into the Colour Lovers palette creator and got this...

Cool, eh?

But anyone can make a flower look pretty. So I tried something different. I uploaded this photo I took of the view from Onteora Mountain House...

And created this palette...

Now I feel like an artiste!

Try it out for yourself. And no more pleading color ignorance, okay?
