Something Old...Adding Vintage Romance To Your Wedding Style
Hudson Valley couples never cease to inspire me with the new and varied ways they find to create a wedding day experience that is meaningful and personal. One of my 
favorites involves adding vintage romance by incorporating the wedding gown or attire of generations past.
The Ring
If your family has antique jewelry or diamonds, you wear them on your wedding day or use them to create a custom vintage look.
One groom secretly had his grandmother's wedding ring resized to fit his fiancé's petite finger. Another bride had her engagement ring custom made to include diamond that belonged to her grandmother.
The Dress
If you are lucky enough to be the same size as your mother or grandmother...and doubly lucky that her wedding gown is remarkably preserved and still vintage cool...you can wear her dress on your big day.
But if the gown is tattered or yellowed with age, no need to give up your dreams of wearing a family wedding gown.
Why not incorporate just a piece of that gown into your wedding look?
You could choose a style inspired by her vintage gown or even have one custom made. Maybe wearing her dress isn't an option, but her veil has survived intact. Wearing her veil you will be the picture of romance and feel close to your family wearing it at your reception.
The Bouquet
You can add a piece of family history to your bridal bouquet. Just weave a piece of the family heirloom dress into your floral arrangement.
