I love muted colors, especially against the backdrop of fall. With all of the bright reds, yellows, and greens, having something that’s a little more understated can really make a statement. Take these fantastic Carrie Pumps:

Okay... maybe framing them is a little much... but I would seriously hang these on my wall. Aren’t they just to die for?? The slate gray is just a little shiny, and then the cut-outs. They’re absolutely fabulous, don’t you think? I love them.
And they got me thinking. What if your wedding shoes were gray (not silver... that’s another post) instead of the traditional white, ecru, and eggshell? THAT would be amazing.
I love the combination of gray with every color--it's chic and modern, but at the same time, classic and elegant. How can you NOT love that? You could even add a pop of gray to your bouquet, wear a fantastic fascinator, or even put your bridesmaids in gray. LOVE.
How to wear gray wedding shoes
The great thing about gray is that it really goes with everything. Much like their cousin, neutral shoes, you can pair gray shoes with just about any color you can think of. The only caveat is that you need to find a pair of shoes that match your wedding style.
When you are choosing your wedding shoes, keep in mind that they’re going to be seen, A LOT. They’re going to be pictured for posterity on your mantle, and when your future daughter asks to try on your dress, she’s going to want to try on your shoes, too.
Wouldn’t it be fab if she had a little freak out because you had amazing taste in shoes (because I know you do)? For example... if you’re a little more daring (maybe an ombre gown, feather fascinator, and birdcage veil), then these are the perfect pumps for you.

How to use colorful wedding shoes
Now, we’ve all worn shoes, but there are so many other great ways that you can use your shoes. If you’re going to have amazing shoes, shouldn’t you get more out of them?
If you’re wearing pumps, use the heels to hold your wedding bands, prop your veil or fascinator on them, or hang them next to your dress.
I’ve also seen some absolutely stunning pictures where the bride is running off (with the groom, of course!) Cinderella-style, with one (or both) of her shoes laying close up in the shot. If you do that, please let me know, because I want to see the pictures! I love close up shots of fabulous shoes, especially when they shoes are the focal point, and the bride is in the background.
They just make me so happy!! If you’re more traditional in your shoe choices, I think that this next batch will be right up your alley.
