PERFECT HONEYMOON...#4: Deciding Where and When to Go 
You probably want to minimize your spending while maximizing enjoyment.
1. Opting for an off-season honeymoon is the easiest way to go. American visitors in Europe are plentiful during the summer season. So unless you are looking to spend your honeymoon with hordes of others, the summer really isn't the best time to go. Rates are also higher in destinations like the Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico if you are craving a sun-filled honeymoon. You'll be better off selecting hot weather spots in the spring and fall. The same is true for Europe.
2. Travel On Your Schedule. If you prefer an automatic honeymoon with beaches, exotic drinks and being catered to at every turn, choose an all-inclusive resort or a cruise is the honeymoon for you. Cruise lines offer an array of romance packages that include items such as couple's massages, intimate dinners on your own private balcony and breakfasts in bed. Along with those, you'll enjoy spectacular shows and lots of live entertainment every night. All-inclusive resorts offer similar packages without the lure of multiple exotic locations.
3. Choose an unusual or remote location. Some couples prefer a honeymoon atypical from what everyone else is doing. Whether exploring Galapagos or Yangtze River, you will want a professional to assist with the details. The excitement, the toasts, and the all night dancing will preclude you from being ready to depart. A recent bride complained they left on their honeymoon the week after their wedding. She said it's been go-go-go nonstop since before the wedding.
They still had out-of-town guests that week and there were also a ton of after wedding things to do like returning the tuxedo and taking her gown in for preservation. You might consider starting your honeymoon more than a week after the big event.
