Christine and Charlie Gill:
August 21, 2010
Location: Carmel, NY
We got married at my parent’s home in Carmel, NY. We picked it because not only is it beautiful, but it was free!
Inspiration
We went with a garden party/outdoor theme. Our colors were hunter green and cashmere (which is just fancy for beige). My inspiration started with the invitations and then I worked from there. I wanted all the flowers to look like I just picked them out of my garden.
I did all of my research via the internet. Brides.com was a very helpful site. I found pictures or ideas that I liked from other weddings and worked from there and made it my own.
Christine's advice for future brides
The only thing I probably would’ve done differently was hire a wedding planner! Planning a wedding by yourself is a lot of work. There are so many things to think about and you don’t want to miss any details. It’s one of the most important days of your life and you want it to be perfect!
Since many people may not be able to afford a wedding planner like me, my best advice to future brides would be to allow people to help you when they offer. Also make sure you do your research and you know and trust whom your working with.
